I find myself in one of the most significant growth periods in my journey right now… Learning to wait on God. I am a fixer, a doer, a helper. I think things through and take action. It is NOT like me to sit by as a spectator. But right now, I find myself in a situation that I can do nothing about. I cannot fix it, help it, even be in it. I have to completely, totally, 100% wait on God. He is the ONLY one who can help.
I wish I could explain the feeling. In a small sense, it is a feeling of weakness and having no control. But in a larger sense, it is quite the remarkable thing… the feeling of placing ALL of your faith in a situation over to God. It is liberating, scary, joyful, heartbreaking, comforting, PROFOUND.
My duty right now is to just keep a safe distance, have patience, and wait on God. I have a unique feeling, a liberating feeling that God will take care of this. I will have my prayers answered and have the most joyful relationship that I have ever known, but I must wait.
PATIENCE.. I think it is something every person on the planet struggles with. As survivors, I think we have to display and tap into our reserves of patience more than any others. We have to have patience to heal physically and emotionally, patience to mourn, patience to receive to courage to live each day, patience to gather strength, patience for trying to forgive, patience for justice… Each step on this journey takes so much time to get through. It’s like knowing the bend to round to the finish line is somewhere up ahead beyond our vision and we have no idea when we will see it. It takes faith to get there and then patience while running the marathon.
As I go through my time of acquiring great patience, I hope you can take a moment as I have (which by the way, was the Word of God) and realize each step is a victory. We must focus on ONE thing at a time. God is on our side and only wants what is best for us, so look for the small miracles. Truly take a moment to reflect and drink them in and then ask for the next and know it will come… in time.
Love and God bless ❤
